Greenville chef embraces Filipino street food: Weekly Dish

LolaCeli founder Michael Izzard has started a new pop-up in Greenville, Muni Muni.

While LolaCeli’s cuisine engages more in the Filipino ethos rather than being Filipino food itself, Muni Muni is inherently Filipino. It is classic pinoy food inside a classic pinoy concept. It centers around Filipino ihawan, or grilled bites. Izzard grills the fare over coals, offering ribeye, pork belly, beef tongue, chicken thigh, broccoli, cabbage and zucchini.

Roost Restaurant is rolling out a new menu. Meet the chef behind it.

Roost Restaurant on North Main Street has a new executive chef, Zac Leepper, and he arrived on a mission.

“I’m looking forward to trying to make this one of the best restaurants in Greenville,” Leepper said.

Leepper is a native of Springfield, Illinois, but has lived in Chicago, Spain and Florida since he left his hometown. Greenville is his newest home, which he moved to sight unseen just shy of two months ago.
